Woke up in the middle of the night sweating. I swear my teeth are giving me fevers. Oh well.
Woke up at ten thirty and bummed around a bit. Got a hair cut at noon and now have actual layers in my hair which makes me look like less of a slob which is nice. Then I went grocery shopping, I was only supposed to get buttermilk for the fried chicken my brother was making tonight but ended up getting some salad stuff for dinner as well.
I was supposed to hang out with Jenny at some point to put labels on jars of honey for her wedding but she never called me back. So I decided not to waste my day and went to the pool to meet up with my brother-in-law, niece and nephew. We hung out there for a bit then Madeline (my niece) and I went to run errands.
We went to Target and walked around for a while, I bought a dress, two shirts and a pair of crappy summer shoes. I also bought “The Blindside” and “Coco before Chanel” We got home around six and were expecting to just sit down with the family and eat but instead hung out and played apples to apples until dinner was ready.
Dinner with my family is always joyous and there is laughing. It is like being with my good friends and laughing for hours. We joke and poke fun at each other. It is why I love them so very much. They make my life infinitely better. It is why I look forward to time with them.
After dinner Anna and her family left and we watched “Coco before Chanel” It is about Coco Chanel before she was famous. It was moving and made me want to watch more of my french movie collection. I started with La Vien Rose which is the story of Edith Piaf. It is a beautiful movie and I could honestly watch it forever.
My brother made fried chicken for dinner, we had salad and corn as well. It was delicious. He made it to go with the hot sauce I brought it from Nashville. He loves hot sauce and this stuff was good, so I got him that and a Johnny Cash shirt for his birthday.
Tomorrow I need to pack and get ready for the wedding as I am going to the beach on Thursday, spending the night and then heading straight to the wedding from there. Which I guess will be cool because I am going to look all beachy and tan when I go to the wedding.
For now I will head to bed.
